While it's easy to place all the tow-a-way problems on the towing companies and yes we know it only takes ONE bad compamy to make all seem mean and evil !! As much as I may fight for students rights against them (if you parked in a legal spot. It is time for students, parents ALL citizens to take a deeper look. The OTHER name on a tow away contract.and stand up to the apartment owner/agent and find out WHY there is a lrgal parking problem, Some parents pay extra for their child to reside in a gated complex. Where is the guard at night to issue your visitor a parking pass? Why can't you get a parking pass to use during the time of your lease? During parents week-end, why are they not able to give every child a visitor pass, better yet, mark off an entire section for parent parking.. It's not like no one has every parked on the grass in front of the complex. What about parents who are no longer living together, should both parents not be allowed to visit, maybe go to the game or even out to eat WITH OUT their vehicles being towed??? It's time for all students who rent an apartment or lived within a complex to join together as ONE and start making changes for your rights. Sadly it will be the smart driver who drank to much & is staying put, not getting behind the wheel to drive, who will be punished by having their vehicle towed.
A ROAM TOWING COMPANY MUST HAVE A CONTRACT WITH THE PRIVATE PROPERTY OWNER OR AGENT 24 HOURS PRIOR TO ANY TOW-A-WAYS THEY ARE PROVIDING ENOUGH PARKING SPACES FOR STUDENT TO HAVE VISITORS, INCLUDING FOR THE MANY PARENTS WHO THEY PROFIT FROM. I SAY START SMALL, REQUEST A SPOT IN THEIR GREEN AREA FOR ANY OVER FLOW OF VEHICLES. BE SURE TO 'PARK SMART' DON'T BLOCK AN ENTRANCE OR EXIT, PRETEND THERE ARE LINE FOR PARKING LIKE AT THE MALL. DO NOT BLACK OR DRIVE ON THE SIDEWALKS. PROVE IS GIVEN THE CHANCE YOU WILL RESPECT THERE NON-PARKING LOT SPACES. LEAVE THE AREA CLEANER THAN IT WAS BEFORE THEY ALLOWED PARKING THERE. ALSO RESPECT YOUR FELLOW TENANTS, TURN THE NOISE DOWN IF YOUR ASKED. YOU SEE, THE TOW-A-WAY TRUCKS ARE DOING WHAT THE COMPLEX, PROPERTY MANAGEMENT IS ASKING THEM TO DO. YOU ARE THE ONES PAYING THEM, TRY TO WORK OUT 'SPECIAL PARKING AREAS' FOR SPECIAL EVENTS.... FOOTBALL GAMES, END OF SCHOOL, HOLIDAYS..... JUST TO PARK THERE ON WEEK ENDS, HEY START A 'LAWN & GARDEN CLUB' OFFER TO MAINTAIN TO SPACE YOU NEED TO USE. WHY DO YOU NEED IT, TO MAKE SURE NO ONE LEAVES AND DRIVES AFTER DRINKING...
