THE MILLION DOLLAR QUESTION, AFTER MUCH RESEARCH THIS IS WHAT I HAVE FOUND TO BE THE FACTS: IF A VEHICLE IS PARKED IN A PLACE WHERE LAW ENFORCEMENT CAN WRITE A TICKET; LAW ENFORCEMENT SHOULD BE THE ONE TO REQUEST THE VEHICLE TO BE TOWED. NOT A TOW-A-WAY COMPANY.... BELOW IS THE HANDICAPPED PARKING LAW.
This past week I was told this is under review. To me it sure seems to be in black & white. Yet some people will find a loop hole to exclude them from the law. I am leaving this here until I'm told it is not valid information. So now I need YOUR help: If you live in an apartment complex, read your lease. You may also check further into the handicap laws. Does the complex have the proper parking spaces for the amount of tenants?
F.S. 316.1959 entitled “Handicapped parking enforcement” states: “The provisions ofhandicapped parking shall be enforced by state, county, and municipal authoritiesin their respective jurisdictions whether on public or private property in the same manner as is used to enforce other parking laws and ordinances by said agencies.” F.S. 316.008(4) provides for a fine up to $250.00 for drivers who illegally park in designated handicapped parking spaces.
