DOWN TOWN GET DOWN: This is a local event held in the heart of the city. Fun for the entire family, from getting to see the FAMU Band to clown with face painting for children of all ages! FSU Golden Girls, cheerleader from both schools. Local vendor's will have booths set up selling food to handmade gifts. Best of all, these events are FREE! Get out and support our downtown area, favorite team or just to enjoy the change of weather! Free parking at the Civic Center

WARNING -Tow-A-Ways: If you ask students who are returning after the summer break, the first thing you may hear is 'How Many" Tow-A-Way companies are here in Tallahassee. This would be due to a very small number of companies, who have a large number of small trucks who can be seen most nights making steady trips from their lot to student housing complexes! It's been said "THEY LOOK LIKE ANTS, running as fast as they can back and forth, STORING UP FOR A RAINY DAY"  Sadly, this may be true, since the same company will sign up to do motor club calls for a cost no company devoted to helping the motoring public can operate on. If your a student, football fan or parent of a student, to them your vehicle is a nice grain of sugar with a bullseye for the 'roam aka tow-a-way company! Below is a list of place we'd like to warn you about, as well as tips on dealing with tow-a-ways.
