Sheriff's Office To Oversee All Towing Companies, Towing Units & Drivers In Leon County

CRIMINAL & DRIVING BACKGROUND CHECKS - Anyone who operates a towing unit in Leon County MUST be fingerprinted and pass a background check then issued a photo Wrecker ID permit.

Ask to see this permit BEFORE allowing any tow truck drive to get any information from you. If you do use an auto club, DO NOT give them any of your insurance information.

EVERY TOWING UNIT IN TALLAHASSEE - LEON COUNTY MUST BE INSPECTED-  The Leon County Sheriff's Wrecker Administration will be inspecting ALL towing units in Tallahassee - Leon County for standard safety and minimum equipment for those who are privileged to be included on the joint dispatch rotation system. This is done to prevent faulty equipment from harming anyone, also for motorist safety.
